Identity

'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.'
                                                   Jeremiah 1:5

Monday 29 October 2012

"Where am I going?"- Wed 3rd day-

"Identity" Oct 21-24 2012
New Vision Church Youth Camp

Ruth preached the first session. Titled: "GO!" using Jeremiah 1 to share with the youth that whatever we find ourselves doing, wherever we are; our calling is to go into all the world and preach the Gospel! Using some of her own testimony and explaining her desire to be a missionary encouraged the Youth to reach for God and not for material possessions. To build your treasure in heaven and NOT on earth because...YOU CANT TAKE IT WITH YOU!
To demonstrate "going" we played a team game with more balloons!
Andrew preparing for his preach while babysitting at the same time! Talent!
Andrew preached the second session, "HEAVEN" -this is our final destination. He spoke about being prepared for Christ's return, and to do this through reading our Bibles and praying.

He asked all the youth to write on a piece of paper where they would travel to
if they could go anywhere of their choice.

Each team took a piece of a jigsaw puzzle and had to complete the picture. As with one piece of puzzle, we don't know what heaven is fully like yet. This was to demonstrate our Identity (life) is just a small part of something bigger; that we will never see completely until we get to our glorious home in the sky= HEAVEN.

After lunch we wanted to seal our revelation about our Identity in Christ: Past, Present and Future.

The mark that I leave behind is of Jesus and not of myself.

We said a big thank you to the two ladies who cooked for us!

Saturday 27 October 2012

"Where did I come from?" -Tues 2nd Day-

Ruth preached the first session, "WHERE DID I COME FROM" all about creation and Adam and Eve.This involved real flying frogs, sweets, rice and water! We played a game where three boys and girls had to eat a sugar bun without licking their lips to demonstrate the disobedience of Adam and Eve and how without God we too cannot help but sin.
Tiffany did all the leading of the meetings.
The second session Andrew preached on "The Last Adam= JESUS"
and how we find our identity in Him
.

In the afternoon we played a huge team game, Catch the Flag. The ammunition = 500 water ballons!
Let the games begin...!

Everybody got soaked!

Then we played team volley ball...

...team basket ball

At the evening meeting Andrew preached on "FATHER TYPES" and how this affects our view of God .

Thursday 25 October 2012

"Who am I?" - Monday 1st Day-

Andrew preached the 1st session "WHO AM I?"
We played the game "who am I?"

Ruth preached the second session,
"WHO DOES GOD SAY WE ARE?"
Ruth explained that we are God's children.

"The river runs into the sea, but the sea is never full" Ecclesiastes 1:7

After lunch we drove everyone to the beach. As part of finding our identity in Christ we explained about the human desire to make your mark..so we asked the Youth to get alone with God and write in the sand, take home a shell and connect to God.
This was very moving, there was a lot of forgiveness messages to God.

After this reflective time we all went swimming in the peaceful sea...it really was peaceful!

Who am I?... I'M A CHILD OF THE KING! WOOHOO!
For dinner we had mussels and fish...Sarap!
Pastor Raul preached the evening message.
M&M night...music and milo (Hot Chocolate)
Mmm..what can these waterballons be for? You will have to wait and see!
